The CSC's examination announcement does not state the number of items or the time limit. Review guides commonly report about 170 items in 3 hours and 10 minutes for the Professional level; our model paper uses these figures, but follow the instructions given on exam day.

Scope of Examination (Professional): General Information (in English) – 1. Philippine Constitution; 2. Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713); 3. Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts; 4. Environment Management and Protection. Verbal Ability (in English and Filipino) – 1. Word meaning; 2. Sentence completion; 3. Error recognition; 4. Sentence structure; 5. Paragraph organization; 6. Reading comprehension. Analytical Ability (in English) – 1. Word analogy; 2. Symbolic logic/abstract reasoning; 3. Identifying assumptions and drawing conclusions; 4. Data interpretation. Numerical Ability (in English) – 1. Basic operations; 2. Number sequence; 3. Word problems. Passing grade: to pass the test, an examinee should get a general rating of at least 80.00.

Important notes

  • Passing the Professional level gives Career Service Professional Eligibility, a second level eligibility for first level (clerical) and second level (technical) positions that do not involve the practice of a profession and are not covered by special laws.
  • The next CSE-PPT is on 14 March 2027, with online registration from 2 November 2026 until slots are filled; the CSC targets releasing the list of passers on or before 11 May 2027. The examination fee is ₱500.
  • Calculators, phones, smart watches and any printed material are prohibited inside the testing room, so practise the numerical items by hand.
  • You may not retake the same level within three months of a previous attempt, and you may not take a level you have already passed.
  • The CSC does not accredit any reviewer or review centre and condemns sharing actual test questions. Our questions are our own, written to match the scope above.
