Comparing Names and Numbers MCQs

Civil Service Exam Subprofessional clerical reviewer on checking whether names, addresses, phone numbers, TINs, amounts and reference numbers are exactly alike, a key skill in encoding and records work.

20 MCQsUpdated 3 November 2026

Clerical work depends on accuracy: one wrong digit in a TIN, account number or amount can send a payment to the wrong person or misfile a record. Comparison items test this skill by asking which pairs of entries are exactly alike.

Compare entries in small chunks, from left to right, checking every letter, digit, space and punctuation mark. Watch for swapped digits (4729 and 4792), doubled or missing letters, look-alike characters (I and l, O and 0, B and 8) and accents. Every answer here was checked by script.
